Doctoraatsbursaal – Faculteit Psychologie en Pedagogische Wetenschappen

In het kader van het onderzoeksproject “Herstelkapitaal bij druggebruikers met een migratieachtergrond: een analyse van gebruikersperspectieven” zijn we op zoek naar een voltijds onderzoeker. Dit onderzoek wordt gefinancierd door het FWO. Het wordt uitgevoerd binnen de Vakgroep Orthopedagogiek (Prof. Dr. Wouter Vanderplasschen) in samenwerking met het Institute for Research on Criminal Policy (IRCP) (Prof. Dr. Freya Vander Laenen), UGent. Het onderzoek heeft tot doel inzicht te krijgen in herstel van verslaving bij personen met een migratieachtergrond, de relatie tussen sociaal kapitaal en herstel van verslaving bij deze doelgroep, ervaren dubbel stigma binnen hun herstelproces, en de bruikbaarheid van cultureel aangepaste geestelijke gezondheidszorg bij het ondersteunen van duurzaam herstel.

Internship ILGA Europe

Responsibilities

To support the organisation of ILGA-Europe’s annual conference (Brussels, October), with a particular focus on the development of the programme, the implementation of the scholarship scheme, providing practical assistance to speakers and support towards the implementation of ILGA-Europe’s diversity policy. If time allows, to carry out background research and draft documents to support other areas of ILGA-Europe’s work.

The intern will be given opportunities to take part in events organised by partners and European institutions in Brussels (where relevant and appropriate). The intern will also be attending the ILGA-Europe Annual Conference in Brussels from 24-27 October 2018.

2nd international Summer School on Globalization and Diversity

The Goettingen Diversity Research Institute is organising the second international Summer School on “Globalization and Diversity” which will be held from 02.08.-15.08.2018 in cooperation with partner universities from Europe, the United States and Japan.

The Summer School will provide bachelor and master students with an overview of current debates on social diversity, taking place both on a global and a local scale. First, students will gain theoretical knowledge through lectures by international scholars. Secondly, they will learn about specifically German perspectives and topics related to diversity (excursions to a variety of local sites). Finally, students will be able to pursue their own research in student-led seminars.

Participation is free of charge for the selected candidates. Due to funding by the University of Göttingen the Summer School will be able to offer travel grants for international participants. The Summer School also provides free organized accommodation for the selected international participants.

Call for 15 PhD posts on Well-being, Ecology, Gender and cOmmunity (WEGO)

On behalf of the WEGO-ITN, The International Institute of Social Studies (ISS) of Erasmus University Rotterdam is pleased to announce the recruitment of 15 Marie Sklodowska-Curie (MSCA) PhD positions (Early Stage Researchers).

WEGO-ITN’s consortium is made up of scholar-activists working on feminist political ecology from ten institutions in five European Union countries: Germany, Italy, Sweden, The Netherlands and the United Kingdom and eight institutions from six countries for training and secondments: Australia, India, Indonesia, Italy, Uruguay and USA.
The deadline for applications is 12 noon, 1 March 2018.
